Company Profile:IMS (Information Management Systems) Inc. was founded in 1981 in Scarborough, Ontario. In 1992 the company moved to its present site, a 8,000 sq. ft. facility in Newcastle, Ontario. The company continues to show steady growth since inception. Summer of 2006 IMS added a total of 2500 sq ft to be used as storage.
Initially the company manufactured printer cartridges and distributed printer consumables. In 1986 the company commenced with the manufacturing of printer ribbons, and in 1995 began manufacturing compatible laser and remanufactured inkjet cartridges. IMS was now making a significant contribution to environmental protection by the re-use of plastic components, plastic waste that would otherwise be scrapped.
The company’s customers include dealers and distributors as well as government agencies and large multi-nationals. Its principal market is the province of Ontario, although products are also shipped to other parts of Canada and also to the USA.
The facility at Newcastle, Ontario can manufacture approximately 5,000 cartridges per month. At any time the company has in stock around 10,000 empty cartridges for manufacturing and 4000 in inventory ready for delivery. Inventory of consumables ready for early delivery to customers is in excess of $100,000.00.
Re-manufacturing uses only the original container. All other parts are new.
Recent upgrades to the company facilities include the provision of a new cleaning room, a new inkjet cleaning and filling room, an improved computer system for quality control and component tracking, and a variety of new testing equipment.
